Posted by: tumocurriculum on: June 9, 2009

  1. CRAP Lesson
  2. Explore the website examples:  Vreele’s Blog, Zimmer Twins, Icon Buffet, Chevrolet.com
  3. Sketch in your sketchbook examples that demonstrate each principle
  4. Deconstruct a website – take screenshots of examples of these principles – find examples of the other principles in the Icon Buffet site.

Other design principles to teach:

  1. White Space theory – the use of space in a layout
  2. The use of color:  demonstrate the way the eye is attracted to saturated colors and to movement.
    1. Color-blindedness – demonstrate how someone who’s color-blind sees a website. 8% of men are color blind,
  3. Content and design should match:  the images used should represent he text.  (This goes along with writing for the web)
